new year, new project

This year I plan to do something a bit different,
As some of you may remember, my passion project last year involved a lot of volunteering in the Inner city, and helping out with homeless people and I really loved it, but this year I decided to not continue it as a project. Yes I would really like to keep that in my life and continue to volunteer and help out in that area, but for my passion project this year, I'm focussing on photography.

I have been interested in photography for quite a few years, and I believe I have the eye for the shots and framing. A couple years ago, my sister Tamara (who has been in the photography business) sold me her Pentax 2000 for only a couple hundred dollars. I bought it and I've played around with, and I don't know fully know how to use it yet.

So this year, I plan to get to know my camera, and to learn all the technical things about how to take photos, and what makes a good picture. I also would like to learn how to use photoshop - how and what makes edits better than others. I think that taking a photography class would be a great idea to learn these ideas all at once. The only problem with this is that I don't want to find something too expensive, so that is my first step I think is to find a good class that has a lot going for it, but is not expensive.

The nice thing about doing photography is that I know a few people who know about it and that can help me out. I plan to contact of few more people about my project. But I will hopefully be working with couple of my friends Raychel Algera and Felicity Pollard. Im super excited to work with them and find out other people through them. I'm very excited about this project!
